In August 2026, Niagara Falls City Council adopted Our Niagara Falls Plan, the City's new Official Plan and long-term land-use vision through 2051.

The City says Niagara Falls is expected to accommodate a population of more than 141,000 by 2051, representing approximately 47,250 additional residents and more than 20,000 new housing units compared with the planning baseline identified by the City.
